Our Health & Safety Promise

The Safety and Welfare of our People is essential, we collectively pride ourselves on working to the highest safety standards for our employees, contractors, clients, associated stake-holders and the general public on site, during transit and storage and whilst on-site.

At Furness Scaffolding, we have always been committed to safeguarding the health, safety, and welfare of our employees and others who may be affected by our works including the general public using the public highways.  Safety is paramount and comes first in all our planning and on-site work.  A Risk Assessment and Method Statement (RAMS) is carried out on all projects that we undertake.  Our team is evaluated and constantly trained to ensure they are working to most current standards.  We take the safety of our customers, our employees and the general public very seriously.  We strive to provide all advice and equipment needed in order to achieve a safe environment for our scaffolding projects and prevent accidents.  Through our on-going quality training, reporting, processes, and safe practice our team ensures that the safety of every individual is of first and foremost importance.

Comprehensive Training

Furness Scaffolding has a thorough and comprehensive training programme across our workforce.  All our operatives are CISRS/ CSCS qualified and our senior team are SSSTS/SMSTS/IOSH qualified and hold advanced scaffolder, advanced inspection, and supervisor CISRS cards.

On-site Safety Communication

Alongside weekly inspections which are carried out by our dedicated inspectors, who will also visit the sites on a regular basis.  We ensure that the most up to date legislation is adhered to and monitor its effect on all works and the site teams.

Company policies and procedures are also communicated via safety alerts, site notifications and Toolbox Talks so that our sites, whether large or small, are always in touch and up to speed.

Throughout all project stages our fundamental focus is always on safety measures in both the scaffolding procedure and the entire scope of works. Our team and personnel are trained in accordance with health and safety regulations and policy and procedures and safe working practices.

We hold full public and employer liability insurance and we comply to strict health and safety policy to all users and residents of public highways in terms of their safety.

  • All scaffolders hold CISRS/CSCS cards and are CITB registered.
  • Pre-determined and on-going client inspections can be provided as agreed.
  • The implementation of an accident free coordination process
  • We use our own equipment, whilst complying with the appropriate British Standards, ranging from traditional tube and fitting scaffold to system scaffolds and specialist equipment for non-standard projects.

There are many current regulations that relate to the Scaffolding and associated works sector and we make sure as a company to keep ourselves safe within these rules, guidelines and regulations at all times.
